About MagMa

Maggie was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. Her nickname MagMa is the beginning of her first name combined with the beginning of her last name. Furthermore, her parents are from Nicaragua, the land of lakes and volcanoes... so MagMa is a natural fit.
Growing-up within the Washington, DC area enabled Maggie to receive a quality education while enjoying a vibrant mix of culture and adventure. Dance is Maggie's first and truest love. She has been a dancer all her life and began her formal education at the age of six, almost 30 years ago. Her favorite dance discipline is tap, though she thoroughly enjoys teaching and choreographing in numerous disciplines of dance.
Academically, Maggie excelled in mathematics and language arts, which enabled her to speak fluent English, Spanish, and French. In her youth she also participated in soccer, gymnastics, and cheerleading. In college Maggie studied economics at American University with the intention of helping developing countries emerge from poverty. However, after years of working at an international economics firm she felt that she was not fully making the global, positive impact she had wanted. Maggie then decided to focus her energies in a different direction in order to improve her local community and eventually the world at large. She drew inspiration from her own life and the hectic, busy pace of DC. Maggie began her own company as a personal assistant and lifestyle consultant in order to provide support to others feeling overwhelmed and unable to live the life they wanted, or to truly enjoy the fruits of their labor.
In addition to administrative and organizational support as a personal assistant, Maggie now provides her community with wellness services in yoga, dance, and reiki via MagMa Wellness. Maggie discovered yoga in 2005 and has been practicing hot, hatha, kundalini, and vinyasa yoga ever since. Her passion for yoga over the last 11 years compelled her to pursue her yoga certification in 2016. Furthermore, Maggie has always been both religious and spiritual, living a delicate balance of practicality, compassion, and faith. Her life journey introduced her to reiki, a Japanese healing modality, in 2014 and she was inspiried to achieve her reiki certification right away.
Bringing kindness, joy, and healing to others has always been important to Maggie and she finds fulfillment in being of service. She strives to always leave places better than how she found them and seeks to share her interests and talents with everyone with whom she is meant to cross paths... one person at a time. There is no such thing as a coincidence. If you are viewing this site, reach out and allow yourself to receive the benefits of improved health, meaningful friendship, and expanded awareness. The Paradoxical Commandments
by Dr. Kent M. Keith
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.Think big anyway. People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People really need help but may attack you if you do help them. Help people anyway. Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

"The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of the state of your mind." ~Dr. Wayne Dyer
